Margo (she/her) is Parsi Indian-American raised in Virginia. She has called Detroit home since arriving by bike in 2013. She is a co-founder and Executive Director of Detroit Community Wealth Fund, a non-profit the provides education and financing for cooperative and democratic businesses in Detroit. Margo is also the founder of the Detroit Kite Festival and serves on the board of the United Community Housing. She is also a co-owner of Public Thrift, a worker-owned thrift store. She holds a Bachelors in Liberal Arts from Hampshire College and a Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan. In 2019, she was named a Crain’s Business 20 in their 20’s honoree. She has an excellent fabric collection and is obsessed with piecing quilts and sewing clothes.
