Detective Thomas Harper has been a member of the Bridgeport Police Department since 2011. In 2015, he was promoted to the rank of Detective and assigned to the Youth Bureau. While in that assignment, he investigated crimes against children to include sexual assaults, child abuse, child pornography, and sex trafficking against children.
In 2018, Detective Harper was reassigned to the Detective Bureau General Investigations. Among other cases, he was able to investigate several human and sex trafficking cases. Detective Harper was a POST certified instructor and taught in-service classes to police officers and recruits in the police academy. Detective Harper is currently assigned to the Homicide/Cold Case Unit but maintains his passion for crimes against children and the victims of sex trafficking.
