Sigrid Leide-Svegborn is a senior medical physicist with more than 30 years of clinical experience in Nuclear medicine, mainly at Skåne university hospital in Malmö, Sweden. She is associate professor at Lund University, Medical radiation physics, Department of translational medicine, Sweden and has a PhD in radiation physics on the topic of Radiation protection of the patient in nuclear medicine including biokinetic and dosimetric modelling. She has also focused her research on radiation protection of infants of breastfeeding patients in nuclear medicine. Her current research area has been broadened to also include radiation protection of the foetuses and embryos of pregnant patients. She has approximately 50 scientific publications concerning radiation protection of the nuclear medicine patient and personnel. She is a member of the ICRP (International Commission on Radiological Protection) Task group “Radiation dose to patient in diagnostic nuclear medicine and has been engaged as mission expert for the IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) in the field of Radiation protection in nuclear medicine.
