Amanda is a public relations consultant who is using her award-winning journalism experience to help tell the stories of the organizations making an impact in Connecticut and across the nation. She also sits on the Public Relations and Marketing Committee for The Center for Family Justice and is honored to help raise awareness about CJF’s work to end domestic violence.
Prior to her consulting work, Amanda spent nearly two decades covering the news in her home state of Connecticut.
She worked for News 8 in May 2022 as a freelance news anchor for the station’s nightly weekend newscasts, helping to deliver the stories that matter most to the people of Connecticut.
Prior to News 8, Amanda worked as an anchor at FOX61 for six years. She started in 2015 as a member of the morning team, and in 2018, moved to anchor the station’s weekday 5 p.m. and 11 p.m. newscasts.
While behind the anchor desk, Amanda covered major stores affecting Connecticut, such as the disappearance of Jennifer Dulos and the COVID-19 pandemic. She also helped launch WorkinCT, a weekly series that highlighted Connecticut businesses and earned Amanda an Emmy nomination.
Before FOX61, Amanda was a weekend anchor and reporter at NBC Connecticut. During her eight years there, she reported on the destruction left behind from Tropical Storm Irene and Superstorm Sandy and was one of the first reporters on the scene of the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School. She also spent months reporting on trial of Joshua Komisarjevsky, who was convicted in the Cheshire murders of a mother and her two daughters. Amanda won an Associated Press Broadcast Award and was nominated for an Emmy for her continuing coverage.
Amanda also worked as a reporter for WSHM in Springfield, Massachusetts. She began her career at News 12 Connecticut as a freelance reporter and associate producer.
Amanda grew up in Monroe and is a proud graduate of Masuk High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications and holds a Masters of Business Administration from Quinnipiac University.
