Bio
Mr. Jennings attended Purdue University on a varsity basketball scholarship; he earned his Bachelors of Arts (B.A.) Degree. He would go on to earn 3 Masters (M.A.) Degrees in Educational Leadership, Special Education Administration, and Special Education with an emphasis in Emotional Impairments from Grand Valley State University. In addition, he received an Educational Specialist Degree (Ed.S) in Leadership from Grand Valley State University. He is currently completing the dissertation portion for his Doctorate of Education (Ed.D) Degree in Educational Leadership at University of Michigan. Mr. Jennings is also in the process of completing The National Superintendent’s Certification through The American Association of School Administrators 2020 Co-hort (AASA). He currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Youngstown City Schools.
He has worked as a teacher and administrator in Grand Rapids Public Schools serving as an Assistant Principal at Grand Rapids Creston High School and Union High, and as a Head Principal at Union High School. He also served as Head Principal of Holland High School and New Tech High at Holland High School in Holland, Michigan an 8th- 12th grade building of 1650 students. From 2013-2015 he worked as the Executive Principal of Ypsilanti Community Schools (Willow Run Community Schools and Ypsilanti Public School Consolidation). Before his current role he served as Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and the Director of Special Education for Muskegon Public Schools.
Mr. Jennings has proudly served as President of Michigan Association of Secondary School Principal (MASSP). He also served on the Michigan Principal Fellowship & Coaches Institute Principals Advisory Council. He is currently a member of Purdue University’s President’s Council and The Michigan High School Athletic Association Executive Council, the governing body of the association.
Mr. Jennings is married to his lovely wife Pamela and they have two children Jaivyn (26), Madisyn (19) and a grandson Grayson (2).
