Gretchen De Soriano studied life sciences at the University of Iowa, and trained in traditional Asian medicine at the Tokyo School of Acupuncture, Moxabation under private guidance of Otzaka family, prominent masters of Kampo.
Ms. Gretchen, together with Nigel Dow, translated one of the most important books of master Otsaka. This book became the most important and leading Kampo book in English literature in the West.
Ms. Gretchen is working on her PH.D at the Faculty of History of Medicine in London on the study of ancient Japanese abdominal diagnosis.
