Dustin oversees research and development at S-5! Metal Roof Innovations, including testing, product design and product development. With an extensive background in testing, codes and standards, he leverages his expertise as a market developer and ambassador for S-5! in Australia and New Zealand.
Dustin has been with S-5! since the beginning – first packing parts at the age of 10 and later as a customer support and technical support specialist. Along the way, he developed a particular interest in solar attachment technology and began to educate himself. Today, Dustin presents on the subject at industry events worldwide.
He is passionate about his R&D team, brainstorming new ideas together and making products more user friendly. He has collaborated and led many efforts in standards and code development in the fields of metal roofing, roofing attachments and racking and mounting systems with the ICC, UL, Intertek and universities/institutes such as the University of Adelaide and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. In addition, he holds more than 10 patents with another 25 patents pending. When he is not at work, Dustin enjoys riding horses, rodeoing and spending time in the outdoors with his son.
