Lieutenant Colonel Hoisington has 20 years of active duty experience in civil engineering and education. He was awarded his bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan, his masters and doctorate from the University of Texas. In base level civil engineering
assignments, Lt Col Hoisington has managed over $400M in construction projects and led two flights. He has three short tours and has deployed twice. Currently Lt Col Hoisington is the Tyndall Program Management Office Executive Division Chief, responsible for 25 person team and $2.8B in construction at Tyndall AFB after the devastation left from Hurricane Michael in 2018.
Lt Col Hoisington is now an adjunct associate professor at the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT). He taught and directed the master’s program at AFIT for three years. Prior to that assignment, Lt Col Hoisington was an assistant professor for six years at the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA). His dedication to education and students has been recognized in awards to include the Society of American Military Engineers National Educator of the Year, USAFA Outstanding Academy Educator, and AFIT Department MOAA Military Outstanding Instructor.
