Galen Smith

Project Manager, Collins

Galen Smith is a project manager for Collins, which manages more than 311,000 acres of FSC-certified forest lands and operates five forest products facilities in California, Oregon, and Pennsylvania. Over seven total years at Collins, Galen has supervised lumber production shifts, created quality control programs, and implemented maintenance management systems. His current projects focus mainly on carbon opportunities and certification processes. Galen previously worked in corporate finance at Fluke Corporation in Seattle, Washington, before his passion for responsible forestry and sustainable forest products brought him back to Collins in 2018. He grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and holds a B.A. from Willamette University and an M.B.A. from the University of Washington Foster School of Business. Galen lives in Portland, Oregon, with his wife and three young children.
