Senior Infection Prevention & Control Nurse

Catherine and Michael are both Senior Infection Prevention and Control Nurses at Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Catherine is jointly funded by the local Newcastle and Gateshead Clinical Commissioning Group and primarily covers IPC for GP practices and residential and nursing homes, amongst other areas. Michael currently works in the acute setting, although the IPC team remit also covers the community setting. Catherine and Michael are both passionate about promoting the links between Community and Acute settings, with the conviction that we always keep the patient at the heart of what we do. Working as part of the Catheter Care Group, alongside a range of specialities, including Jackie Rees, Nurse Consultant for Continence, we are committed to improving patient safety and experience throughout the whole patient journey.
