Michael Barber is a principal with The Lighting Practice. He has over 25 years of experience in the lighting profession designing for academic, corporate, healthcare, mixed-use and retail environments. Michael acts as both The Lighting Practice’s sustainable design and human-centric design coordinator, working with the staff to maximize their design vision while minimizing the impact to the environment and supporting human health. His professional activities include participation on the IALD’s Energy and Sustainability committee. He has taught the lighting fundamentals course at Drexel University for 12 years and has lectured in the Master of Science in Sustainable Design program at Philadelphia University on Electric light and daylighting design principles.
