Greg Melia, CAE is an innovator and leader dedicated to advancing associations. Greg was appointed by the Customer Experience Professionals Association as their first full-time CEO in April 2019. CXPA is the premier global non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement and cultivation of the Customer Experience profession. It has 4,000 members in 70 countries around the world.
Previously, Greg served as VP of Program Development USA for ITN Productions Industry News, which developed broadcast quality video programs in partnership with leading associations. Prior to that, Greg served as Chief Member Relations and Strategy Development Officer for ASAE, responsible for membership recruitment, engagement, and retention, the Certified Association Executive credential, ASAE’s volunteer experience and strategic leadership retreat, connections with local, regional, and state societies of association executives and the association management company communities. Greg’s additional previous professional experience includes the post of director of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Institute for Organization Management, which is the oldest and most recognized program for nonprofit leadership development; serving as an organization development consultant to the United States Environmental Protection Agency, and as an inaugural staff member of the Ritz-Carlton hotel in Pentagon City, Virginia.
Greg holds an undergraduate degree in psychology from The College of William & Mary, a master’s degree from the London School of Economics, and a graduate certificate in Creativity and Change Leadership from the International Center for Studies in Creativity at the State University of New York.
He earned the CAE credential in 2004, and was named a "Young & Aspiring Association Professional" by Association TRENDS in 2009.
Greg is also a Coca-Cola Scholar, and chairs their Development Committee as a member of the Coca-Cola Scholars Alumni Advisory Board. He was also designated an honorary member by Farmhouse Fraternity International in 2016.
