Currently working as a consultant at University Hospital Wales Cardiff and as a Consultant for the Welsh Air Ambulance, EMRTS.
Syed has always been passionate about pre-hospital emergency medicine having been involved in both trauma care & PHEM for over 2 decades. He has served with the British Army as well worked with numerous Air Ambulances in the UK.
His current interest is specifically the benefits of Community Emergency Medicine (CEM) – an emerging sub sub-speciality of PHEM. CEM can be used as as oureach of the emergency department to reach specific and the most vunerable patients without them coming to the ED.
Syed started the ECRU (Enhanced Care Response Unit) in Oxford and has recently started the Cardiff & Vale Physician Response Unit (C&V PRU) in Wales.
