Hello! I am an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Computer Science Department at Rice University, in Houston, Texas. I teach databases and data science, at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. My path to the front of the classroom was a bit convoluted, as I first had a career in software development and project management before deciding to pursue a PhD and join the faculty at Rice.This background has given me a wealth of experience and applications on which I can draw in the classroom. I’ve been a database user and enthusiast since my undergraduate days and I’ve enjoyed both expanding my databases skills to include NoSQL systems and helping others make the leap as well.
