Dawn Childs is the UK Change Director at National Grid, where she ensures the company can perform over the next regulatory period. This involves heading up a team that identifies change potential within National Grid and helps the company understand how to deliver and harness the value from that change.
Dawn joined the Royal Air Force (RAF) straight from university to follow her passion for engineering. During her 23 years in the RAF she progressed to become Deputy Chief Engineer. She then joined Gatwick Airport and quickly took on a role as Head of Engineering. Four years later, Dawn moved on to theme park operator Merlin, and in 2019, she arrived at National Grid as UK Change Director.
Dawn became President of the Women's Engineering Society in 2018.
