Bio
Scott is a Licensed Professional Counselor and the Clinical Director of Marietta Roswell Counseling. After graduating from Liberty University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling, he began his career providing counseling services to adolescents, adults, couples and families in private practice as well as in psychiatric institutional settings. He also continues to work as contract therapist for Cobb County Family Dependency Treatment and Juvenile Drug Courts.
Depending on the needs of the client, Scott utilizes various proven-techniques such as Person- Center Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Aggression Replacement Therapy (ART). He provides a non-judgmental environment of acceptance, respect, and understanding and promotes personal growth and lasting life changes for those trying to manage anxiety, depression, anger, trauma, and substance abuse.
Throughout his career, Scott has led various workshops and groups such as parent-teen communication workshops, Celebrate Recovery, and men's support groups. He has also taught Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and facilitated Aggression Replacement Therapy (ART) Groups to help individuals build social skills, manage feelings of anger, and develop moral reasoning capabilities to help repair negatively impacted interpersonal relationships. As a second career professional, Scott integrates the knowledge and experience he has previously gained while working for a Fortune 500 Company to now assist individuals faced with the challenges and pressures of balancing careers, relationships, marriages, and families. As a certified Prepare-Enrich facilitator and Gottman Level II Couples Therapist, he works with pre-marital couples to build a healthy foundation for their future lives together; He also uses those programs to help couples and families who want to improve their marital and family relationships.
Scott’s goal within the therapeutic process is to work with individuals, couples, and families who are experiencing difficulties in life and provide a safe place to process, acquire, practice, and implement new skills in order to develop healthy living skills.
