Bio
Hye Young Lee is an assistant professor in the Department of Cellular and Integrative Physiology at The University of Texas, Health Science Center at San Antonio. Lee received her PhD in Life Sciences at the Pohang University of Science and Technology. Lee’s research focuses on the pathophysiological mechanisms underlying autism spectrum disorders, a heterogeneous neurodevelopmental syndrome characterized by deficits in language development/social interactions, and repetitive behavior/restricted interests. Her laboratory uses molecular and cellular neurobiology tools, in vivo brain imaging, and animal behavioral studies to rescue behavioral dysfunction in the mouse models of autism.
