Maria Damiano is a lawyer at the firm Harte Law Professional Corporation. Since 2003 Maria’s practice has been restricted exclusively to the area of medical malpractice assisting victims of serious medical harm across Ontario and Canada.
Maria was called to the Bar of Ontario in 2002 and is a graduate of Osgoode Hall Law School. In her last term at Osgoode Hall, Maria did an exchange program at the University of Bologna Law School in Italy, the oldest law school in the Western world.
Maria is currently on the Board of Directors of the Ontario Trial Lawyers’ Association and is a council member of the Medico-Legal Society of Toronto. She is currently President Elect of the Ontario Trial Lawyers’ Association.
Maria has been a contributor to various legal journals including the Advocates Quarterly and the Annual Review of Civil Litigation on the topic of medical malpractice. In addition, Maria has spoken on many occasions on issues of medical malpractice including for the Ontario Bar Association Health Law section, the Mount Sinai Hospital Obstetrical Malpractice Survival Guide; the Canadian Obstetrical Malpractice Conference and the Ontario Trial Lawyers’ Association
