Thomas I. MacDonald is currently an independent security consultant working for CRDF Global as a Port Security Advisor. After serving for 23 years in the U.S. Coast Guard, retiring as a Commander (O5), he has focused his efforts on security consulting. MacDonald specializes in maritime, aviation, and critical infrastructure security assessments in the Middle East. He has conducted port security assessments in Lebanon and vulnerability assessments on critical maritime infrastructure facilities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Most recently, MacDonald led a port security and operations assessments on the ports of Beirut and Tripoli in Lebanon, following the explosion in Beirut on August 4, 2020. He is an experienced leader within the security field, having directed multiple teams within the U.S. Coast Guard and aiding in the development of security plans for at-risk states. MacDonald graduated with honors from the USAF Security Police Academy.
