Bio
Bill Wright leads worldwide business development and technical strategy for AI/ML and Intelligent Edge for the Global Accounts and Verticals group at Red Hat. He started Red Hat's AI Network initiative to advance the use of AI and machine learning in mobile network and edge infrastructures. He is a member of the ETSI ENI industry specifications group, with which he works to standardize the use of AI/ML techniques in mobile network management systems.
He previously served as Director of Product Management with Affirmed Networks, where he led the company's efforts in virtualization, management tools, and security planning. Before then, he worked at VMware, where he collaborated on pioneering research with technology partners and Tier 1 operators in the use of virtualization for network functions. This research culminated in a first-ever production network function virtualization deployment at a multinational mobile operator, effectively kickstarting a new multibillion-dollar market.
