Mia Lorick practices in the firm’s trial and appellate groups with a focus on real estate litigation, professional liability defense, and civil appeals. Mia graduated from the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts and completed her undergraduate studies at North Carolina School of the Arts. In 2014, Mia received her Juris Doctor from the University of Houston Law Center. During law school, Mia was a member of the Mock Trial and Moot Court teams and received several advocacy awards. Because of these awards, she was inducted into the National Order of the Barristers.
Mia has participated in several trials and appeals—including oral argument at the Texas Supreme Court. And, following favorable verdicts for her clients, Mia was featured on NPR, KHOU, KPRC, Law 360°, and Texas Lawyer. Mia is a faculty member for the NITA Deposition Course and is an adjunct professor at the University of Houston Law Center. In 2018, Mia was a speaker for the Texas State Bar’s Advanced Real Estate Law Course where she received the Steven C. Haley Best Speaker award for her presentation on short-term rentals.
In addition to her law practice, Mia is the founder and director of the firm’s Diversity and Inclusion Initiative and is the author of www.SharplySuited.com, a blog that offers career and style advice for women professionals. Most recently, Mia was named a Woman to Watch by the Houston Business Journal, a Rising Star by the University of Houston Law Center, a Top Lawyer by Houstonia Magazine, and a Rising Star by Texas Super Lawyers.
