Mr. Davidson, an award-winning architect, and Fellow of the American Institute of Architects (FAIA) is nationally recognized for his expertise in developing and managing large complex multimodal transit and aviation projects. Completing a 34-year career at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ) in 2004, he served as Chief Architect for 14 years – in addition to Program Architect for the Authority’s transit and aviation redevelopment programs.
As the Authority’s Chief Architect and Program Architect, he developed projects in-house with his architectural staff, while also providing management and oversite of consultant teams for large scale transit and aviation projects. Most notable in-house programs were: the World Trade Center (WTC) Temporary PATH Station, followed by the Lower Manhattan Transportation Master Plan that became the WTC Transit Hub on the post-9/11 WTC site; the World Financial Center (WFC) Ferry Terminal that provides the western terminus of the Master Plan along the Hudson River; AirTrain JFK, including the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) Jamaica Station and New York City Transit (NYCT) Howard Beach Station Airport Gateway Programs; the Newark Liberty International Airport Redevelopment Program, including International Terminal B and AirTrain Newark, incorporating the Northeast Corridor (NEC) Airport Gateway Station; and the LGA Redevelopment Program, including redevelopment of the original Central Terminal Building.
After retiring from the Authority, he spent 19 years leading STV Inc.’s Aviation + Multimodal Practice, his array of transportation programs and projects included intermodal rail, bus, waterborne, light rail and airport gateway transit stations; most notably, the Amtrak Gateway Program’s NY Penn Station District 32nd Street Corridor Master Plan, and the George Washington Bridge Bus Station Redevelopment Program – bringing his experience in developing and managing large scale transit projects and a dedication to enhanced customer experience coupled with exceptional design direction for quality transit infrastructure.
