Chris Turk is a trademark attorney, historian, amateur geopolitician, avid traveler, concertgoer, and foodie. A student of history and political philosophy, it was theories about "who owns what" that drew him to intellectual property law and eventually to a position as a Trademark Examining Attorney at the USPTO. Over the course of his career, Chris has experienced trademark law from multiple perspectives, including as an Examiner, a BigLaw associate, in-house counsel at VF Corporation (owner of iconic brands such as Vans and The North Face), a member of the Board of Directors of the International Trademark Association, a partner at a national law firm, and now as an attorney with The Belles Group. He leans on the valuable legal lessons he learned along the way to help clients navigate trademark issues in a practical, cost-sensitive manner. While he enjoys all aspects of trademark practice, navigating oppositions and cancellations before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board is a particular area of interest.
