Amir Shavit is the Chairman of the Israeli Electricity Authority (IEA), with over 20 years of experience in energy and public utilities.
Working in both the public and private sectors, Mr. Shavit has been involved in major reforms and projects in the energy, water, and transportation sectors. Beginning his public career in the Ministry of Finance, Mr. Shavit was a director at the Energy Directorate of the IEA and oversaw the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure's budget. He later served as CFO of Israel's rail company, CEO of the energy production company Adeltec's subsidiary, and CEO of the holding company "Mishki Darom ", an agriculture cooperative society operating through subsidiaries regarding citrus fruit, palms, olives, cotton, and agro-tec.
Today, Mr. Shavit leads the IEA's efforts in Israel's energy sector, including the development of a competitive energy market for production and distribution, promoting regulatory infrastructure for photovoltaic (PV) and energy storage, and setting electricity tariffs.
