Lindsey has devoted her career to understanding the risks faced by design and construction professionals. Her clients include owners, owner’s representatives, contractors, international multi- disciplinary design firms, as well as local engineering and architecture firms. Lindsey takes great pride in offering an integrated suite of services to her clients, providing advice on risk management, contract negotiation, conflict resolution, as well as defending her clients from claims. Lindsey has represented design and construction professionals in all manner of civil litigation at both the federal and state court levels, including defending her clients from claims involving allegations of defects, cost overruns or schedule overruns on construction projects ranging from residential to commercial to infrastructure; as well as claims of personal injury or wrongful death against construction and/or design professionals occurring on construction projects or allegedly related to design/construction safety issues on completed projects. Lindsey’s clients benefit from her litigation insight. In addition to her litigation practice, Lindsey counsels her clients in prudent contracting practices, careful client selection, collection strategies, partnering agreements and many other aspects of their daily work. She works with her clients throughout the life of their projects to ensure careful risk management, and is often called upon to assist with conflict resolution between project participants. Her work with design and construction professionals has enriched Lindsey’s life beyond her professional endeavors. Lindsey is passionate about innovation within the industry, and particularly the use of alternative delivery and teaming agreements to improve the processes, efficiency and quality of the work her clients do. She is a frequent presenter to industry organizations and professionals. Additionally, she takes an active interest in mentoring and supporting both the construction and legal professions through her volunteer work. Lindsey’s work has earned her several distinguished titles and roles in notable organizations such as the Urban Land Institute, American Institute of Architects, and the Seattle Architecture Foundation, where she has spent many years as a volunteer and/or board member.
