Bio
Frances Hopson has recently joined Burns & McDonnell as a Transmission Engineer working within the Transmission and Distribution practice. She is currently training to produce detailed high voltage underground cable design packages that meet client and national standards.
Frances holds a bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering BEng (Hons) from The University of Warwick. After graduating from university, Frances was selected to take part in the first ‘Big Engineering Work Experience Week’ with Our Ingenious World which is a project to promote engineering and technology.
Frances’s passion for engineering started during her time at sixth form where she helped run STEM activities and the Greenpower team as well as taking part in the Engineering Education Scheme. She was also awarded an Arkwright Engineering Scholarship from 2014-2016.
