Hailing from Kingston, Jamaica, Tennesse Garvey is a First Officer with United Airlines where he flies the Boeing 737. Tennesse also currently serves as a Programs Chair on Organization of Black Aerospace Professionals (OBAP) Board of Directors. As a graduate from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University where he earned his Bachelors in Aeronautical Science with Minors in Aviation Business Administration and Information Technology. Tennesse started his career as a Flight Instructor at Florida Institute of Technology where he was then promoted to a Program Supervisor, next a Program Manager and then later promoted to the Assistant Chief Pilot for the university's College of Aeronautics. Tennessee enjoys being actively involved in the community and is passionate about inspiring the youth to pursue careers in aviation and aerospace. He has over 20 years working with youth programs, 15 years of volunteer work with the American Red Cross and has been a part of OBAP for the past 8 years. As OBAP’s Programs Chair, Tennesse enjoys working with youth programs and industry partners on initiatives that foster aerospace career exposure for our youth and creating opportunities that will help increase diversity in our industry.
