Humanitarian Border Management Specialist, Immigration and Border Governance Division, International Organization for Migration
Bio
Andria Kenney is a Specialist with IOM on Humanitarian Border Management, though prior to this, she spent 18 years working with crisis-affected groups on issues such as refugee resettlement, migrant detention, humanitarian response, and in particular, human trafficking. Most of her experience has been in the East, North, and Horn of Africa; but through her tenure at IOM’s headquarters she has had the opportunity to work directly with governments, law enforcement, and protection actors across Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. Her experience has ranged from front-line casework to high-level policy development; curriculum development to delivering trainings to judges and border guards – always with the core focus of protecting human rights and the dignity of migrants.
