Nikos was appointed member of the Special Scientific Committee on Climate Change Mitigation at the Ministry of Environment and Energy in January 2020. In May 2020 he was also appointed member of the Regional Team of Western Macedonia supporting the governor in Just Transition issues. Previously he was the head of the Climate and Energy Policy Sector at WWF Greece, concentrating on lignite phase out and the shift of the energy model from fossil fuels to renewables. Nikos has also worked as a scientific adviser at the office of the Greek Green MEP.
