Dr Sankar Neelakantan

Dr. Neelakantan is a Consultant Interventional Radiologist with five years of NHS experience. He completed dual fellowships in Vascular Imaging and Interventional Radiology (IR), as well as Cardiac Imaging, holds the prestigious European Diploma in Stroke Intervention and is a fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists. His clinical interests include endovascular therapies for Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD), dialysis access intervention, portal hypertension interventions, and mechanical thrombectomy for ischaemic strokes. Dr. Neelakantan is also deeply committed to evidence-based medicine and actively engages in research focused on machine learning (ML) applications in interventional radiology. In addition to his clinical and research roles, he serves as an Educational Supervisor for the West Midlands training scheme and is a dedicated examiner for the FRCR 2B viva in various national and international training courses.
