Meghna Modi, Co-founder and Managing Director of MG Mobiles, started a mobile phone retail chain in New Delhi in 2006 with a vision to build together with the store teams the largest and most successful mobile phone retailer in India, providing people with maximum opportunities for growth. At present, the company has 50 stores in Delhi, with 700 store staff and operates in a market that is dominated by very aggressive mom and pops.
Meghna, having studied at London Business School, in 1997, worked for ANZ and then went back in 1999 to India to lead Revlon in India, a joint venture between the Modi Group and Revlon USA.
She completed her MBA at Harvard Business School in 2003 and then worked at Bain Consulting in Boston for two years. Being an entrepreneur at heart and wanting to contribute to her country, she founded a mobile phone retailing chain in India in 2006.
