Joe Cortez is the former U.S. Census Bureau Trade Ombudsman and Regulations Chief. He was responsible for the staff that reviewed the voluntary disclosures. He also worked with CBP, State and the Bureau of Industry and Security to recommend actions to take based on the disclosures. His experience working with the U.S. Census’ systems such as AES and AESDirect provides a unique set of skills and insight to clients. He worked closely with many other U.S. agencies, such as Customs, BIS, U.S. Dept. of State, Department of Energy, and other regulatory export agencies.
