Hematologic oncologist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center
Bio
Alexander M. Lesokhin, M.D., is a hematologic oncologist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center who specializes in treating people with blood cancers such as lymphoma and multiple myeloma. Specifically, he’s focused on developing innovative ways to use the immune system to treat cancer and help these patients. To this end, he’s currently leading two phase I clinical trials that are evaluating different immunotherapies in patients with advanced blood cancer, and is also a co-investigator in two other immunotherapy clinical trials. In addition to his clinical immunotherapy expertise, Lesokhin’s laboratory research aims to characterize a subset of immune cells called myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSCs) and how they influence the development of adaptive immune responses against tumors.
