Bio
Alan McLeod transitioned from business transformational consulting to full-time, Church Revitalization Consulting in response to God’s calling, shaped by several factors. First, Alan is gifted with a business brain and a pastor’s heart. He has a heart for the Bride of Christ, the local church. He has served several churches as a Revitalizer, Elder, Church Financial Manager, Men’s Ministry Leader, Bible Teacher, and Small-Group Discipleship Facilitator. In addition to running the Church Revitalization Center, Alan also serves as an Executive Board Member at the Metropolitan New York Baptist Association.
Second, prior to managing the annual Church Revitalization Conference sponsored by Cornerstone Bible Church, Alan successfully orchestrated a 3-way church merger. The merger consisted of a new church plant along with two older and struggling churches about to close their doors. The resulting merged church continues to grow and thrive to this day. With first hand experience, church mergers and adoptions are among the many revitalization pathways available to struggling churches.
Finally, Alan realized that God’s shaping included a business transformational consulting career in banking and manufacturing. He brings a set business management skills that few pastors if ever are trained in. Alan’s business skills include strategic planning, change management, program management, information technology management and people-skills in facilitating high performance teams.
Complementing years of personal bible study and teaching, he is well along in a Master’s degree program in Theology at Liberty University’s School of Divinity. He is also enrolled in the Church Answers, Church Revitalization Certification program.
Alan received extensive training in strategic management and breakthrough improvement from the Juran Institute. He is a Certified Information Systems Auditor. He received training from Ken Blanchard’s Training and Development organization in facilitating high performance teams. He received a BS in Electrical Engineering from Villanova University. While at Villanova, he was active with Campus Crusade for Christ (now CRU) and evangelical missions.
