Dr. Christine Allen has served as the Director of CAFOD since 2019, becoming the first woman to lead the agency. Prior to her leadership at CAFOD, Christine was Director of Policy and Public Affairs at Christian Aid, and earlier, Executive Director of Progressio. In each of these roles, she has consistently prioritised integral ecology, fairer economic systems, and amplifying the voices of the global South.
Christine has publicly advocated for urgent climate action at both national and international levels, including during the COP26 summit, where she emphasised the moral imperative of supporting communities already suffering from the effects of climate change.
