Phrixos Papachristidis is the sole shareholder and Chief Executive Officer of Hellespont, a family-owned shipping company with a rich history spanning over 70 years. He became Chief Executive Officer in 2011 at the age of 28 and has since led the company through the aftermath of the financial crisis of 2008-2009, in significant sale-and-purchase transactions of the Hellespont owned fleet and the incorporation of third-party management into their business model. Phrixos is known for his strategic and pragmatic approach to leading Hellespont with his bottom-up value approach at serving Hellespont’s customers. Hellespont operates a fleet of 25 ships in the tanker, container and offshore sectors from it’s offices in Hamburg and Athens. He is also shareholder in Manila Ship Management & Manning Inc that acts as manning agent to 60 vessels that includes Hellespont’s fleet.
