Leigh Donnelly has been involved in endoscopy since 1995, firstly as a staff nurse and then eventually holding several nurse specialist posts, including being a clinical endoscopist for the last 18 years. More recently, Leigh has been involved in training, education and development which is now the majority of her current role. Leigh has always been passionate about training and education and with her enthusiasm for endoscopy, this has given her a very engaging career pathway. Leigh was awarded a PhD in 2024 titled ‘An Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis Exploring the Lived Experience of Trainee Endoscopists’. She is currently Chair of BSG Nurses section and board member of ESGENA.
