Kim Hill is co-founder and president of HWA Analytics, a Michigan-based research and consulting firm he helped establish in 2013. The firm’s focus is on providing research, consulting, advising, and partnering services to public- and private-sector organizations in the areas of automotive and transportation; advanced manufacturing; connected, autonomous, and mobility technologies; and sustainable economic development practices. Hill is currently very active in the connected and autonomous vehicle technology space and is assessing potential business models as the industry quickly adapts these technologies.
Prior to starting HWA Analytics, he worked for 17 years at the Center for Automotive Research in Ann Arbor as director of Group Research and associate director of Research. He also created and directed the Automotive Communities Partnership (ACP). The ACP program delivered advanced manufacturing sector intelligence and trend forecasting to states and communities. He has witnessed firsthand the enormous changes that have occurred in the automotive and other advanced manufacturing industries for over two decades and has seen how states and communities have adapted to these changes — or not.
