Bo Menkiti is the Founder and CEO of The Menkiti Group, a real estate company dedicated to transforming lives, careers, and communities through real estate. The Menkiti Group is focused on strengthening neighborhoods through the strategic development, management, and disposition of real estate in urban markets. Mr. Menkiti also serves as CEO and is the Founding Partner of Keller Williams Capital Properties (KWCP), a residential real estate brokerage managed by The Menkiti Group.

Since founding the company in 2004, Mr. Menkiti has led The Menkiti Group to grow a portfolio of projects that include more than 1.5 million square feet of space delivered, leased, or in development, and with more than $200 million invested into low to moderate income neighborhoods. Under his leadership, Keller Williams Capital Properties has grown to 1,000 associates across 8 offices in DC, MD, and VA and closed $2.29 billion in real estate transactions in 2019. Additionally, the award-winning MG Residential sales team is among the top 1% of Realtors nationwide and has assisted more than 2,300 families with the purchase of a new home.

Prior to forming The Menkiti Group and KWCP, Mr. Menkiti served as Chief Operating Officer of College Summit, a national non-profit organization dedicated to increasing the college enrollment rate of low-income students. In this capacity, he oversaw the organization’s successful growth into a multi-site national organization.

Under Mr. Menkiti’s leadership, The Menkiti Group and KWCP have been recognized by Inc. Magazine as being among the fastest growing private companies in the nation, and by the Initiative for Competitive Inner City (ICIC) and Fortune Magazine as two of the fastest growing inner-city businesses in America.

Mr. Menkiti’s work has been featured in David Bornstein’s book on social entrepreneurs, How to Change the World, and in Stephen Goldsmith’s The Power of Social Innovation. He has also been recognized nationally by Ebony and Inc. magazines as one of the “Coolest Young Entrepreneurs in America.” In 2017, Mr. Menkiti was named the EY Entrepreneur of The Year in the Mid-Atlantic, an award that celebrates entrepreneurs whose ambition delivers innovation, growth and prosperity that transform our world. That same year, he was honored with the Marcia Lamb Award for Inner City Innovation by the Initiative for a Competitive Inner City (ICIC). Mr. Menkiti has had the privilege of being named to the Washington Business Journal’s Power 100 in 2014 and 2019, a list of the most influential business leaders in the Washington metropolitan area. The Washington Business Journal also presented him with their 2014 Minority Business Leader award, a recognition of the demonstrated success of the top minority business leaders in the Greater Washington area. Mr. Menkiti has been recognized with The National Association of Realtors Prestigious “30 Under 30” award and has been honored by the National Association of Realtors as the District of Columbia Realtor of the Year. In addition, Keller Williams Realty International named Mr. Menkiti its 2015 Entrepreneur of the Year. Most recently, he has been honored as a Swanepoel 200 Trendsetter, a RISMedia Real Estate Newsmaker, and was presented with the Mid-Atlantic Innovator & Entrepreneur Award by The CEO Report.

Committed to enhancing communities and transforming neighborhoods, Mr. Menkiti serves on civic and public service organizations. He was elected as the 2013 President of the District of Columbia Association of Realtors and was appointed by the Mayor to the board of DC Water, the District of Columbia Water and Sewer Authority. He is also a trustee of the Federal City Council, serves as a Director for The District of Columbia Building Industry Association, and serves on the boards of City First Bank, the Meyer Foundation, and Washington Redskin’s linebacker Ryan Kerrigan’s Blitz for the Better Foundation. In 2014, Mr. Menkiti launched the CPMG Foundation (Capital Properties Menkiti Group Foundation), an organization that focuses its resources on serving its community in the areas of housing, youth, education, and entrepreneurship.

Mr. Menkiti is a graduate of Harvard University and lives in Washington D.C. with his wife and four young sons.
