Meet Alyssa Dudley (Artist) On July 16, 2013 at age 21 survived a violent domestic assault by her then estranged boyfriend who shot her 3 times, point blank range. One to her stomach and two in her head where one bullet still resides resulting a Traumatic Brain Injury.
This assault took her ability to use her once dominant right hand and left her verbally challenged; ‘my art speaks for itself’. Only speechless strong artistic talent still remains.
A necessary part of Alyssa’s drive for life is creating. “Art has always played an important part of my life, but it was much easier”. Now everyday tasks are done one handed. “After my injury my creative talents are the one thing I haven’t lost.”
“I’m here on this earth, maybe this is how I can express my story and retain my sanity. I want to share my creations. They are 100% me.” From beginning to end, from art visions to creations and finally to the product you see now.
Alyssa has experienced loss in a profound way. “With persistence and a strong faith in God’s plan for me, I am moving forward with my life.
“The canvas is my witness of God’s ability to create a masterpiece out of ‘Shattered Pieces’.”
