Bio
Pedro E. Urriola is from Venezuela and studied the equivalent to Veterinary Medicine at the Universidad Central de Venezuela. He completed a MS at the University of Minnesota, and PhD in Swine Nutrition at the University of Illinois. Pedro worked at Cargill Animal Nutrition in Elk River, Minnesota as the Research and Development Manager for Swine.
Currently, Pedro is an Associate Professor at the Department of Animal Sciences and the Department of Population Medicine at the University of Minnesota.
Pedro, along with Dr. Lee Johnston and Gerald C. Shurson, continue work on nutritional evaluation of agro-industrial co-products, especially maize co-products.
Pedro is also involved in projects on the management and control of infectious diseases transmission such as African Swine Fever in collaborations with the College of Veterinary Medicine.
