Bio
Lori Rowen is currently the Acting Director of the Disaster Lending Communication and Coordination Division (DLCCD) in the Office of Capital Access at the U.S. Small Business Administration. In her role, she develops national communication strategies, builds relationships, promotes readiness, and post-disaster coordination, helping the SBA seamlessly support disaster survivors. Prior to joining SBA’s disaster enterprise, she served as the Associate Director of Policy and Research at the National Women’s Business Council, a non-partisan federal advisory council established to serve as an independent source of advice and policy recommendations regarding women business owners. Lori graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Manhattan College with a bachelor's degree in both government and psychology. She is a deserving recipient of the Manhattan College’s Harold E. Hazelton Humanities Medal and the Ryan Medal for Government. She holds Master of Arts in diplomacy and international relations from Seton Hall University, where she specialized in international economics and development and Latin American and Caribbean studies.
