Terri Hrisak was born and raised in Marietta, Georgia. She attended public schools in Cobb County. In 1991, Ms. Hrisak earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Kennesaw State University. In 1994, Ms. Hrisak earned a Master of Science Degree in Sociology with a concentration in Social Work. She began her educational career as a district school social worker for Berrien County Schools in Nashville, Georgia. Having grown up in Marietta, Ms. Hrisak chose to return to Cobb County in 1997 and began her teaching career as a special education teacher. In 1999, Ms. Hrisak left the field of education to work in a corporate position as an executive assistant to the CEO and as the investment relations person.
However, Ms. Hrisak’s passion for education did not keep her in the business world for long. In 2000, Ms. Hrisak returned to education as a high school science teacher for Cobb County Schools and served in that capacity until 2005. In 2005, she left Cobb County Schools and was hired by Long county School District in Ludowici, Georgia. She had a 10-year employment with Long County School District that included the following positions: school counselor, Pre-K site director, system school nutrition director, system testing director, and system school social worker.
In 2016, Ms. Hrisak was hired as a high school counselor for Hiram High School with Paulding County Schools. In 2018, Ms. Hrisak was named as department chair/lead school counselor for Hiram High School. Ms. Hrisak is an innovative, caring, team leader and advocate for her students, parents, faculty, staff, administration and the communities she serves.
