Stephen has worked in renewable energy for over 13 years. Originally focused on project management, he led the development and closing of several wind projects for RES, including the 100MW Greenwich windfarm in Ontario and the 150MW Massif du Sud windfarm in Quebec. Stephen then spent 3 years in Santiago, Chile, opening RES’ first office in South America, before returning to Canada to lead RES’ involvement in the Wataynikaneyap project, a $1.5B remote transmission line project, in partnership with Fortis Ontario and 22 Indigenous communities.
Now dedicated to origination and project finance, Stephen is focused on the emerging C&I market in Alberta and leads RES Canada's power marketing and corporate PPA contracting efforts. He helped establish BRC Canada by committing RES as one of its first founding members and sits on BRC's Advisory Board. RES Canada announced its first C&I PPA contract in October 2019 on the utility-scale 117MW Rattlesnake wind project, in partnership with Berkshire Hathaway Energy Canada. RES Canada will complete this project in 2021, adding it to over 2000MW of wind and solar projects built across Canada and approximately 300MW in Alberta.
Stephen is excited about the potential for corporate procurement of renewables across Canada and is always open to engaging with like-minded individuals interested in exploring common opportunities in the C&I space. Stephen is a registered Professional Engineer, holds a Project Management Professional certification, and lives in Montreal, Canada.
