Dr. Joseph Jardine is the Director of Product Discovery and Optimization for IAVI based at Scripps Research. He is generally interested in the discovery and development of antibodies, nanobodies and other protein-based therapeutics that can be used to combat infectious disease. His group uses a blend of synthetic and B cell-based discovery approaches combined with structure-based directed evolution to engineer novel molecules, with a current focus on HIV, COVID and snake envenomation.
