Bio
With a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and a Professional Human Resource certification, ShaWanda Manuel has over 20 years of experience and skills in administrative and organizational management, program development, and implementation of direct services to various programs and populations. She is an experienced Organizational Management Leader with a demonstrated history of success and effectiveness working within prominent nonprofit organizations in New York City and South Florida.

ShaWanda lends her service as Board President for Welcome Home S.I.S, a nonprofit that caters to women impacted by the criminal justice system in Byesville, Ohio. She is also the Executive Board Vice-Chair at The Thurman Perry Foundation, a Louisiana-based nonprofit nationally dedicated to bettering the lives of women and girls impacted by incarceration.

Inspired by her family and her own experiences with the criminal justice system, the Brooklyn native founded Family Connections Travel, a multifaceted company committed to connecting the crucial pieces of support, resources, referral, and services to aid families faced with the unrelenting impacts of incarceration. ShaWanda has witnessed and endured the strains on women and their families during these times. ShaWanda strives to ensure that others have the vital resources to strike back at these disparities.

While this agency is in its infancy stage, ShaWanda is committed to creating opportunities to empower, restore and rebuild justice-impacted individuals and their families. She is dedicated and works to find avenues to “help others help themselves.”
