As leader of the Department of PRM at Montpellier University Hospital in France she’s involved in rehabilitation of patients after neurological or musculoskeletal diseases.
She obtained her PhD in 2005 focusing on movement analysis of the upper limb of tetraplegic patients. Her current scientific research focuses on impairment, recovery and rehabilitation of the upper arm of stroke patients, with a special interest in brain plasticity and innovative treatments These activities are conducted at the Euromov Laboratory, Montpellier University.
In her daily practice, she’s particularly involved in assessment and treatment of spasticity and related neuro-orthopedic disorders. A few years ago, together with PRM colleagues and surgeons, they created the “Institute of Neuro Orthopedics of Montpellier (INOM)” dedicated to the care of patients with limb deformities in neurological context. More than 1500 treatment procedures are performed in the INOM each year: botulinum toxin or phenol injections, motor nerve blocks, non-pharmacological interventions, mini invasive percutaneous tenotomies, surgical procedures, and others.
