Bio
Officer Joel Dyea has served as a law enforcement professional for over five years with the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) and has spent the last three years as the School Resource Officer for the Northern Pueblos Agency in New Mexico. Officer Dyea served as Dispatcher for the BIA Southern Pueblos Agency for 18 months prior to attending the U.S. Indian Police Academy in Artesia, NM, where he is a proud graduate of Class 172.
Officer Dyea is a certified Instructor for Active Threat response for both law enforcement and civilians. Officer Dyea is also a certified D.A.R.E. and G.R.E.A.T. Instructor and serves as a Field Training Officer and Armor for his agency. Officer Dyea has dedicated his career to fostering safe learning environments and building positive with the youth and his community.
Officer Dyea currently serves as the President of the New Mexico School Resource Officer Association, where he continues his commitment to improving safety, training, and collaboration among school-based officers across the State.
