Bio
Shoon leads the development of a pan-Asian, One Microsoft Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) strategy for Microsoft addressing Culture, Inclusion, Allyship, Gender, Disability, Mental Health, LGBTQ+ as key focus areas for the more than 22,000 Microsoftees working in Asia.
She brings an Asian voice to Microsoft’s Corporate D&I work, bridging the “translation gap” between global and regional D&I agendas and helping to land Corporate strategy in the field.
She sees her role as one transforming the culture of the company she works for as well as the that of the wider eco-system of customers, partners and community that Microsoft operates in, striving toward greater inclusion of diverse talents in the workplace and ultimately, empowering everyone on the planet to achieve more.
Prior to Microsoft, she worked for Shell in a number of business roles in operations, branding and communications, change management, and planning before moving to the Global D&I Practice in Human Resources.
She is passionate about helping people realise their full potential and feels truly privileged to be doing a job that allows her to tap into that passion to make a difference every day.
She graduated with a Bachelor in Business Administration (Honours) from the National University of Singapore. A single mother, she lives in Singapore with her 4 adorable girls.
