Dr. Klaas Vandevyvere, MD has been a tenured rheumatologist and innovation leader at AZ West in Veurne for the past 3 years. He is currently active as a senior advisor on digital healthcare and innovation/digital transformation for 2 international companies.
Born in Kortrijk, Belgium, Klaas attended and graduated from Catholic university of Leuven, Belgium (KUL) in medicine with a sub degree in Internal medicines - rheumatology. Afterwards he was accepted into az groeninge Kortrijk where his previous contributions on deploying patient-centered rheumatology care earned him the chair of department of rheumatology. This inspired Klaas to progress his activities in AZ West te Veurne since 2016 to create a new rheumatology unit. In the meantime he got his degree on management for physicians in healthcare at EHSAL Brussels.
He has since investigated the possibilities / necessity of digital transformation in healthcare and is responsible foor the digital itinerary of AZ west.
In March 2021 he will be graudating as a innovation/digital transformation leader at INSEAD, Paris, France.
He is also keynote speaker for different pharmaceutical companies and other organizations on national/international events on patient care and innovation.
He also co-authored 15 articles in peer-reviewed journals mainly on patient-care related matters.
